Abstract

Sexual violence is one of the weapons against Ukraine and its citizens. Professionals, who work in state services and civil society organizations that care for victims of war-related sexual violence, need additional knowledge about how to provide effective psychosocial and legal support to survivors. A series of expert interviews were conducted with representatives of NGOs and state social centers to understand their needs in working with victims (n=44). The experience of specialists can help identify victims' problems and provide guidance to professionals on how to work more effectively to assist survivors of sexual violence. The author analyzes the capabilities of the state and public organizations to provide assistance to survivors of sexual violence that occurred during the war against Ukraine.
